De Zalmhaven Rotterdam Our products interwoven to the highest level
For 50 years, CUGLA has been supplying high-quality products to the construction industry. We believe that construction can always be more efficient and more sustainable. We are proud that our products have been incorporated into the largest skyscraper in the Benelux.
De Zalmhaven, with a height of 215 metres, looks out gloriously over the river Maas and faces the Erasmus Bridge. Two flanking towers form a visual staircase to the lower Scheepvaartkwartier (Maritime Quarter). Rotterdam’s skyline has gained a new eye-catcher.
Sustainable construction. In the design, construction and use phase
Sustainability is fundamental in the construction of De Zalmhaven. Thus, De Zalmhaven will be equipped with solar panels, high insulation value, heat recovery systems and heat pumps. The lifts also recover some of the energy used. These and other measures help achieve a high degree of sustainability.
The materials supplied by CUGLA are Cuglaton Injection Mortar K70 and Cuglaton Tikso K70. These are specially designed for prefabricated assembly CUGLA heeft geleverd zijn de Cuglaton Injectiemortel K70 en de Cuglaton Tikso K70.
Our mortars provide a solid foundation for the tallest residential tower in the Netherlands. Did you know that one square metre of Cuglaton Tikso K70 can withstand a pressure of 7 million kilograms?
The execution method comfort the CUR-108, “Design and execution of mortar joints in precast concrete structures”, applied in this project are placing in a mortar bed and under-pumping.
Health and safety and environmentally friendly
A great added value is that CUGLA mortars are packaged in sustainable recyclable PE packaging, in which they stay nice and dry on the building site and there is no loss.
Also, the bags weigh only 20 kilos (instead of the usual 25 kilos). In doing so, we reduce the physical strain on construction workers.
